Useful Tools for Straight and Curly Styles Blow-dryer with Diffuser and Nozzle
I really like Solano and Elchim blow dryers for the quality, the way they hold in your hand, and how long they last. As with every blow dryer you must remember to clean the metal screen from dust on the back of the dryer, for optimal power and wear. The nozzle that comes with these dryers is also very efficient for straightening your locks shinny and smooth. As far as my favorite diffuser for enhancing curl while drying your hair, is the "hot sock" hands down. It's a sponge with an open area to fit on the end of your dryer to enhance curl. Use in conjunction with a curl-enhancing product of your choice. It is less bulky to store and curly styles seem to be less frizzy. Since it is a sponge it can be stored very easily when traveling, just stuff it in the corner of your bag. Brushes and Combs My favorite brushes are ceramic Ion metal round brushes for smoothing and curling the hair. They polish the hair great, heat up and cool down fast, which is one of the secrets to having your styles holding longer. Board brushes are excellent to comb hair out with. From the ends to the roots is best, to avoid breakage. Wider toothcombs are better for combing out the hair than combs with the teeth close together. Curling Iron Most of Jens curly styles are created with a 1 1/2 inch curling Iron. If you like spiral curls you may choose to do what is called a candlestick method and style the hair perpendicular to the shoulder, or another way to say it is, the iron is in the direction of 12 o clock and 6 o clock. |
